This series focuses on the intersection of digital editing programs and the artificially idealized female form. It utilizes principles of traditional abstract painting as well as graphic design, and explores the figurative violence done to the female body through Photoshop and similar image editing programs. It is a commentary on how the ubiquity of digital editing helps to perpetuate a distorted ideal of the female form to the public. The series explores how Photoshop tools are used to reconfigure, distort, and dehumanize the body, with different painting applications and techniques being used to simulate their digital equivalents.
